Hurricane is a revolutionary tool integrated into Blender for generating high-fidelity particle systems. Thanks to its unified architecture, it allows you to simulate fluids, cloth, softbodies, and granular dynamics (sand) interacting with each other simultaneously in a single physical simulation.

Currently, the engine works in an ultra-optimized way via CPU (making the most of multi-core processors), but once the final version is released (soon), it will feature full GPU support for both physical simulation and mesh generation, whitewater particles (foam/splashes), etc. Additionally, subsequent updates will include advanced FLIP and MPM solvers.

To achieve this cohesion, Hurricane includes a comprehensive system of Constraints covering cloth, softbodies, rigidbodies, viscosity, plasticity, and welds. With this versatility, it is possible to achieve hyper-realistic and complex effects such as dynamic accumulations of snow.

BETA INFO
HURRICANE is currently in BETA (highly stable) with a special 30% discount on its current price. Upon the release of the definitive version, the engine will run natively on the GPU and will include many new tools. Additionally, the advanced FLIP and MPM solvers will be included in the list of solvers in the near future.

One of the major pillars of Hurricane is its scripting tool, "HEL" (Hurricane Expression Language), which allows you to write custom scripts directly in Blender to interact in real-time with the particle solver. If we look for an industry equivalent, HEL offers the same level of power and absolute control as VEX in Houdini.

To help you get started right away, Hurricane comes with dozens of pre-configured template scenes, ready-to-use HEL scripts, and optimized shaders that will boost your creativity from day one.

Additionally, to ensure you can master all its features quickly, Hurricane includes an extensive and detailed user guide covering every tool, including an in-depth manual dedicated exclusively to HEL. All of this documentation is fully available in both English and Spanish.

HEL (Hurricane Expression Language) is an intuitive and powerful scripting language designed with a familiar syntax similar to Python. It allows you to write your own scripts and physical logic directly within a dedicated Hurricane editor integrated into Blender to inject them in real-time into the simulation engine. This removes any creative boundaries and grants you absolute freedom over physical behavior. HEL is one of the pillars of Hurricane, allowing you to manipulate velocities, positions, attributes, or forces of each particle with a power and creative freedom comparable to VEX in Houdini.

Integrated Scripting Interface and Presets: To streamline your workflow, Hurricane features its own editor and scripting console directly within the user interface. This code editor detects errors in real-time, pointing out the exact line and type of syntax failure so you can debug your scripts instantly. It also includes an extensive library of Presets (preconfigured templates) with detailed comments in every section of the code, ideal for getting familiar with the language quickly and creating your own modifiers in minutes.

Cloth Effects & Simulation

Simulate high-fidelity cloth with total control over its physical behavior. Thanks to the unified XPBD solver, you can independently adjust the stiffness for stretching (Stretch), shearing (Shear), and bending (Bending). Additionally, Hurricane allows you to simulate dynamic tears in real-time (Cloth Tearing) that react realistically to external forces, collisions, and simultaneous fluids in the same scene.

Creating clothes with Hurricane is extremely simple: you can model traditionally using sewing edges and generate the garment instantly using our Weld constraints (vertex welding). In future releases, the Hurricane ecosystem will expand with many more simulation tools focused on garment generation and patterning.

Advanced Constraint System

Hurricane lets your imagination run wild. Create clothes, tear them, and let them realistically affect your simulation. Edit your constraints to control the Stretch, Shear, or Bending of your simulation. You have 6 different types of constraints to achieve any kind of simulation:

Cloth
Deformable cloth simulation with specific controls for Stretch, Shear, and Bending based on the mesh geometry.
Softbody
Volumetric, deformable, and elastic bodies that maintain their internal volume based on proximity searches.
Rigidbody
Simulation of rigid, non-deformable structures with internal fixed stiffness.
Viscous
Viscous fluid behavior for materials like mud, clay, chocolate, or lava.
Plasticity
Simulation of plastic materials that retain permanent deformation after physical stress.
Weld
Physical seams and joins between coincident vertices or loose edges in the mesh.

Simulate advanced granular behaviors like sand, dirt, or gravel with ultra-precise friction and collision physics. To achieve this level of fidelity, Hurricane does not use a conventional PBD system, but a highly optimized custom implementation of XPBD (Extended Position Based Dynamics), allowing you to define a complete system of constraints that can break dynamically under physical stress.

Additionally, the integration of key tools like Sleep and WakeUp grants absolute control over simulation behavior and performance, saving resources by putting static particles to sleep and waking them up instantly upon collision or external forces.

Full GPU Acceleration
Porting the physical engine to support full GPU acceleration (CUDA, OptiX, Metal, and OpenCL), enabling up to 10x faster simulation times, real-time meshing, and massive computation for foam and whitewater particles.
Advanced FLIP and MPM Solvers
Integrating FLIP (Fluid Implicit Particle) solvers for large-scale liquid fluids, and MPM (Material Point Method) to realistically simulate complex deformable materials such as snow, mud, wet sand, and advanced structural destruction.
Specialized Modules
Hurricane acts as the core simulation engine and physical powerhouse. In the future, we will release integrated specialized modules that leverage this high-power core to add targeted features: a cloth patterning and garment design module for tailoring high-fashion assets, a gas simulation module (fire, smoke, and explosions), and a particle VFX module for the easy creation of magical effects and fantasy sparkles.
